What to test in your Windsurf app

Cascade's Code mode can change the codebase, and checkpoints can restore code changes. Include existing customer data when checking the behavior of a build you plan to release. Cascade documentation.

For a settings update, use an account with preferences saved before the change. Modify the new setting, save, and sign in again. Compare every preference, including the ones you left alone. Also try an account that has never filled in the new field, and check what happens if an older tab is still open.

Can existing accounts use the new setting without completing setup again?
Does saving one preference preserve the others?
Do the saved choices remain correct on the next visit?

Change a notification setting in an existing account

A customer wants to change email notifications while keeping their saved time zone and other preferences.

Where the customer starts: An existing test account with email notifications enabled and a non-default time zone saved before the settings update.
What a successful result looks like: The customer disables email notifications. After signing in again, notifications remain disabled and the time zone and other preferences are unchanged.

Cases to try

Use an older account with no value for the newly added setting.
Save from a tab opened before another session changed a preference.
Leave and return to the page without saving.

Problems to look for

Saving the notification setting resets the saved time zone.
An older account cannot open settings because the new field is missing.
The page shows the new choice, but it reverts on the next visit.

Why it matters

Times shown elsewhere in the app can shift even though the customer changed only their email preference.

The report records the account's preferences before and after the task. Give that comparison and the reproduction steps to your coding agent or developer, then repeat the task with existing data after making a fix.

Update a profile without losing its existing details.
Cancel an edit and check that saved settings stay unchanged.
Check notification delivery with the saved preference.

What to bring to the review

Share the build to review and identify the settings or feature that changed.
Provide a test account with data saved before the change, plus a fresh account.
List the expected defaults and the preferences a save should leave unchanged.

We usually need an app link or build and authorized test accounts. You or your developer make the fixes using the report. A retest after changes can be quoted separately.
